A MOTORIST has appeared in court after allegedly leading police on a chase through Moree.

About 8.40pm on Saturday, officers from the Barwon Local Area Command traffic and highway patrol command were travelling west along Adelaide Street when they spotted an unregistered vehicle.
Police performed a u-turn and followed the vehicle which allegedly sped off, prompting police to start a pursuit.
Police terminated the pursuit due to the manner of driving.
The vehicle was soon located in bushland near Mehi Crescent.
At this time, assistance from the dog unit and local officers was requested.
A short time later a 34-year-old male was located, arrested and taken to Moree Police Station.
The man was charged with:
• Police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously (Skye’s Law);
• Use unregistered registrable class A motor vehicle on road;
• Use uninsured motor vehicle; and,
• Drive motor vehicle during disqualification period - second plus offence
The local man was bail refused pending an appearance at Moree Local Court on June 1.
