Everyone knows someone within the community who has helped make a difference so take this opportunity to give these people the recognition they deserve.
The awards recognise individuals, businesses, community organisations and initiatives who are advancing reconciliation and respectful relationships in Moree.
All nominees must demonstrate they are building better relationships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people for the benefit of all Australians.
They must also prove they are creating positive changes by coming up with innovative ideas and actions that make a difference. They could be building cross-cultural understanding through employment or training initiatives, education, partnerships or by engaging with their local community.
There is a wide range of residents who qualify with 21 categories ranging from residents of the year to sports people, businesses and trainees of the year.
To find out more you can visit the Moree Champion or contact Glen Crump at Miyay Birray or Cathy Duncan at the AES.
The winners will be announced at an awards dinner and ceremony at the town hall next Friday, May 29.
Last year’s event was a great success and an entertaining night for all.
Don’t miss this opportunity to thank your colleagues and friends within our community.
