Last week the Anglican Bishop of Armidale Rick Lewers, before a large crowd in All Saints Church, inducted the Reverend Phillip Brown as Vicar.
Although growing up in Armidale, he has recently been the priest in charge at St Johns, Brunswick, Melbourne.
He holds a Master of Divinity, a Bachelor of Honours in Philosophy and an Associate Diploma of Music in Piano Performance.
He, his wife Lisa and their two children Ethan and Isaac are excited to be in Moree.
The parish nominators; Randall Boughton, Wendy Long and Roger Butler, presented Reverend Brown to Bishop Lewers for induction and then Jann Tuart, Irene Brown, Daniel Assef and Roger Butler presented him with the symbols of his ministry.
He was then given welcomes by Vicar’s Warden, Randall Boughton on behalf of the parish, Dave Aber on behalf of Moree council and Father Paul McCabe on behalf of the Moree Christian Network.
Warden Wendy Smith gave an enthusiastic welcome to Lisa, Ethan and Isaac.
The evening finished with supper in the parish hall where the parishioners and clergy from all around the dioceses greeted Reverend Brown.
The prior clergy of All Saints have gone on to greatness.
Jon Earnshaw is now Registrar of the Diocese of North West Australia and Brian Kirk is now Vicar General of the Armidale Diocese.
