Organisers received positive feedback about the food and secret entertainment which turned out to be a trio called the The Three Waiters.
The ‘waiters’ disguised themselves and blended in with the crowd before revealing themselves as the entertainment.
Fairview CEO Brett Arthur thanked everyone, especially Joy Peachey, who helped organise the event.
“The money goes towards our hostel, the Perry James Lodge. It’s actually turning 36-years-old this year and it’s getting pretty worn out, so we’re trying to give it a bit of a freshen-up,” he said.
Further into the future, Fairview hope to replace the building all together and create “a much nicer facility”, but Mr Arthur said that was a long way off.
He said each year the government reviewed pensions, the viability and funding for places such as Fairview.
“It is through functions such as this that we can survive and do extra things for our residents.”
Mr Arthur said the support of individuals and business houses continued to amaze him.
“I don’t know what the total cost of everything donated was but it’s typical of Moree.
“When you ask someone to support an event their always more than happy to help and donate something, which is great,” he said.
