Molik visited as part of a prize Moree Tennis Club won through the national Community Play competition. The club had the most registered players for the program nationally.
Community Play is a club-based program that helps under 10s get involved in tennis through the Hot Shots program.
Molik first visited Boomi Primary School where she had a hit on the court and participated in Q and A before travelling to Garah where she spoke at the local school assembly.
Returning to Moree she got involved in a community play session with local children before an autograph session.
President, Margie Buckley, said about 40 Hot Shots took part on the day with 15 round-robin games.
“The whole town was excited to have Alicia here and everyone has taken advantage of the opportunity asking questions, getting photos and signatures.
“It was a great pleasure to have her here and the kids have learnt a lot,” Buckley said.
“Tennis is a great sport and to get to meet someone like Alicia, for the parents too, and promote tennis is wonderful,” she said.
