Coach Chris Binge said the boys had been working hard.
“We went to Armidale to the nines at the weekend for a bit of fun with no pressure and came away with a good result.
“The win was a great way to start to the season,” he said.
The coach said they would now look at building for the first competition game in about five weeks.
“We aren’t focussed on any more than that at this stage,” he said. “We hope to build another good season for the club and like last year, there’ll be a bit of pressure as we are the club everyone wants to hunt down so we’ll have to up the ante. Training wise we are ticking all the boxes and have had the best start to the season we could.
“Now we’ll go to Gundy and blow off the cobwebs so to speak.”
This will be the first pre-season game followed by a match against Warialda the following week, and then a home game against the Boars the next weekend will be the first official Group 19 trial.
