Moree chapter member, Stephen Williams, said the event was held each year at a different location, and this year it was Tamworth turn.
“The Big Sky helped out with registrations and guided rides for visitors to Keepit Dam. The 35 members who attended had an awesome experience during the three days,” he said.
The HOG saw almost 2500 riders from every corner of Australia and international visitors from the US, UK, South Africa and Indonesia.
“We got to view the latest models of Harley Davison, make new friends and witness a horse spectacular, with bikes and horses on the same stage,” Mr Williams said.
“For most of these members it was their first rally, but certainly it won’t be their last.”
The iconic HOG thunder run started at AELEC, travelled down Peel St and snaked over Bridge St, then coursing through Currabubula, Werris Creek and Quirindi before looping back.
Harley Davidson Australia customer experience manager, Gaz Luxmoore, was one of the rally organisers and attendees.
“It was an absolutely spectacular weekend,” Mr Luxmoore said.
HOG North West NSW chapter director, Jackie Hudson, was one of the lead riders of the thunder run. “It’s been awesome... they have had a ball,” Ms Hudson said.
She said the rally was a chance for Harley owners from all over to have a taste of the region’s countryside, with three planned trips out to Nundle, Uralla, and Lake Keepit via Manilla.
“They loved the little country roads, they just thought it was perfect,” she said.
Mr Williams thanked Thomas Lee Motorcycles in Moree for supporting the local HOG group.
