Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and under 25 and passionate about rural issues.
To be eligible, entrants must also be either bonafide residents of Moree and its area, or their parents are to be.
The winner not only receives great prizes and vouchers from sponsors, but will also have the opportunity to compete to become the Land Royal Showgirl at the Sydney Royal Easter Show just as the 2014 showgirl winner has done.
Amber Boydell was awarded the regional zone showgirl title.
She was presented the title accompanied by Jane Stent from Quirindi, who will both represent zone four at the Royal Easter Show.
Miss Boydell has made the honour a family tradition, Moree Show Society president Brendan Munn said.
“We are so proud to have Amber represent Moree at the Sydney Royal Show as our rural ambassador,” Mr Munn said.
“The last time that Moree had a state representative, was Amber’s sister, Phoebe Watts (nee Boydell), which was in 1999.
“Amber’s selection to this prestigious event caps off 130 years of Moree Show history, whereby only a few lucky young women have achieved this status.”
This is a rewarding experience, a great way to meet new people and become more involved with the community.
