I have two points I would like to address:
1. I am a home owner in Anne Street, and have lived next door to a house that was burnt down over four years ago.
I have seen all sorts and all ages use this premises for whatever reason… come on if you’re spending time in a burnt down, empty dirty house… it means the activities that are going on, cannot be good for those that enter this house or for our community as a whole.
We have laws and time frames to help the community, be and look like Moree is a good place to live.
Why is this house still standing?
2. I have worked in this community for years and for years in many meetings have talked of the inadequate street lighting in Anne Street, this street is a wide road that attracts stolen bikes, cars, trucks, golf buggies, you name the vehicles no doubt it’s travelled into and through Anne Street.
What prompts me to write this letter is the other night, around 10pm, I drove out of my drive way, driving down Anne Street at the legal speed of 50 km, I nearly had a heart attack some person side stepped inches away from my left front bullbar.
No street lights, too dark, I did not see them cross the street or in front of my ute; a death it could have been.
Our rates have gone up a lot over the years.
Thank you for emptying my bins, I see you’ve sealed the roads… please we need street lights for safety of men women and children, we need street lights for the safety of our properties, we need street lights so the police officers, fire brigade personnel, ambulance officers can see where they are going.
We need street lights it’s a need for the safety of all Moree and for all our vehicles.
