THE 2014 New South Wales Pony Club State Showriding Championships were held at Scone with a strong representation of local Zone Eight riders making the trip to the Hunter Valley.

Pony Club members from across NSW represented their zones in a full range of show riding events including rider and hack classes, show hunter, pair of riders, team of four riders, team of hacks, pair of hacks, pleasure hack, handler class, bareback and working hunter class.
The Zone Eight riders were Bella Reardon, Kelsey Cooper, Millie Hall, Lucie Boyle, Chelsea Bilsborough and Melanie Cleal representing Warialda Pony Club; Jessica Towns, Paige Sinnamon, Bronte Dagg and Corey Hawkins from Gravesend Pony Club, and Moree Pony Club representatives Celine Depczynski, Jaime Clissold and Max Newick.
All riders performed extremely well during the weekend and won ribbons and earned plenty of points for Zone Eight in the team competition.
Zone Eight chief instructor Julie Morgan travelled with the team to Scone and said she was pleased with the sportsmanship shown by all Zone Eight riders.
“It was a very successful weekend with all riders making it through the heats and into the finals, which was impressive considering there were around 50 horses in some events,” Morgan said.
“A lot of hard work went into the horses and riders to achieve at the state level and I am very proud of Zone Eight and all the riders,” she said.
