Watched the First Contact show last night and felt frustrated and aggrieved by some of the ignorance shown by several of the six people who most certainly don’t represent most Australians.

I don’t for a minute think that six out of 10 Australians have no knowledge of Aboriginal people.
They must have scoured far and wide to get these severely damaged people.
Also, some of the panel on the Awaken show afterwards were not much better.
They are ignorant of their own history as much as some of the broader populations.
If they had bothered to go to an Aboriginal Studies class or the Justice Health or any other Aboriginal Cultural Awareness programs Australia-wide, they would find that the massacres and mistreatment are discussed at length along with the kinship being the most complex of any race in the world.
I get so angry with these programs that try to defame all white people as racists and ignorant.
I’m not and none of my friends are either.
In fact it’s not about racism it’s about either liking a person or not liking a person regardless of race, colour or creed.
