More than 40 people from Moree, Inverell, Gravesend, Narrabri and Gunnedah took part in the weekend camp at the Lake Keepit Sport and Recreation Centre.
“There were a range of activities for families to take part in including swimming, tennis, netball, kayaking, canoeing, bush walking and even just simply relaxing,” Northcott’s Moree team leader Wayne Nagle said.
“The giant swing and archery proved popular activities, and a number of Northcott’s Tamworth respite clients visited over the course of the weekend to take part in activities and enjoy a meal.
“Children danced the Saturday night away at a disco that was organised for them.
“The dancing was enjoyed by young and old with nut bush city limits, chicken dance and hokey pokey getting the most responses.”
Mr Nagle said rock climbing, trivia and obstacle courses were some of the other activities families also enjoyed taking part in.
“A number of the mums commented that it was nice to have the weekend catered for so they could have a break from the home routine and enjoy some activities with their families.
“Overall the weekend was a huge success and the families all enjoyed each other’s company.”
