The Boomies cruised past Glen Innes to win the grand final 36-10 on Sunday.
Coach, Stan Smith, said they used 2013’s defeat as motivation for this year’s success.
“They didn’t want to do it twice in a row,” he said.
“They played for one another, got a good start and we said at half time we couldn’t relax because Glen were going to come back at us.”
Appearing in their fifth successive grand final, the match could not have started in worse fashion for the home side when they knocked on from the kick-off.
They spent the next five minutes defending their line before winger Richard Simpson intercepted an errant pass and raced 85 metres to open the scoring.

Man of the match and centre Trevor Tighe then scored two tries in a matter of minutes to extend the lead to 18-0.
Tighe completed a first half hat-trick in the shadows of half time when he sliced through off a clever Alf Newman pass as the home side took a 22-4 lead to the break.
“Trevor had a blinder and Tyrell Smith had a blinder too,” Smith said.
Any hope of a Glen Innes fightback was quickly extinguished inside the first five minutes of the second half as Tighe flick-passed to winger Tyrell Smith who scored in the corner.
Captain Jeremy Smith scored a rare try alongside the posts before Tyrell Smith put an exclamation mark on a comprehensive victory by chipping over the top of the Glen Innes fullback.
Tyrell won the race to the ball before being swamped by jubilant teammates.
Coach Smith said he would enjoy the win before making a decision on what to do in 2015.
“Every year I say I’m going to give it away, but we’ll wait and see.”
