The recommendation was made in an Urban Advisory Committee (UAC) meeting in early August.
Councillor, James Von Drehnen, said the list was a good idea, as a number of non-recommended trees had been planted in the past, and were a cost to council to have them removed.
A RECOMMENDATION was also made that the council remove trees and branches which block the view of CCTV cameras at the Criterion car park.
Mayor, Katrina Humphries, said it was a request of local police and that it would be “very irresponsible” if councillors voted against the recommendation.
The recommendation was moved by all councillors.
THE Local Government Remuneration Tribunal determined for the 2014/15 financial year an increase of 2.5 per cent for councillors and the mayor.
At Thursday’s meeting councillors voted to accept that increase, working out to be $5 per week.
Councillor, John Tramby, said he would arrange for his increase to be donated to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
COUNCILLORS Sue Price and James Von Drehnen approved the schedule detailing the council’s investments.
The recommendation is a monthly requirement to be brought to councillors.
COUNCILLORS took care of outstanding money unused after the 2013/14 financial year.
A sum of $300 was refunded in trust for the Anzac Statue Memorial Appeal.
There were a number of other unspent sums from different accounts rolled over to benefit the current financial year.
COUNCIL committee and ordinary meeting times were changed to benefit councillors who lived out of town.
The committee meetings will now start at 12pm and ordinary meetings will start at 2pm.
Cr Price, who lives in Mungindi, thanked her fellow councillors for the change.
