Governor Margaret Bateman, lieutenant governor Janette Curtis, area three director Karen Tromp and mediator Dorothy Koukari were happy to be in town meeting with the club who’ve had a long history within the community.
Zonta Club of Moree president, Dianna Sheil, said the board along with local members looked at a strategic plan for 2014-16.
“We have proudly given our time, talents and energy to the community since our charter date of November 5, 1998, raising funds, negotiating donations and sponsorship, and giving hands-on service to projects assisting women,” she said.
The strategic plan included the recruitment of five new members this biennium.
Governor Bateman said membership of Zonta was an opportunity to make a difference to the lives of women and girls around the world and in local communities.
“We are indeed fortunate to have a club in Moree and with such dedication and commitment to their community.
“I have only just taken on the role of governor and I am inspired and excited by the organisation’s mission and vision for the 2014-16 biennium. In 2014-16 we will tackle the challenges with conviction, commitment and courage!” governor Bateman said.
The Zonta Club of Moree has an “outstanding” record of service in the local community including and in particular, Moree Family Support and the parenting room, according to Ms Sheil.
“There is much that can be done, but the club needs more members so they can continue their work into the future,” she said.
