Minister for Roads and Freight, Duncan Gay, announced bullbars on light vehicles, within a reasonable tolerance of the requirements, will be given a two-year period of exemption from the vehicle registration regulations applying to bullbars in NSW.

Minister Gay will issue a Ministerial Order to address the issue of non-compliant bull bars currently subject to a compliance campaign.

 “The minister has acted quickly and sensibly in responding the concerns,” NSW Farmers president Fiona Simson said.

 “It's a common sense solution while the Australian Design Standards are being sorted out,

 “Minister Gay has also said the Ministerial Order will also work to address outstanding infringement notices.

 “NSW Farmers will seek to ensure that this commitment is met and current defect notices are repealed,” Ms Simson said.

Any vehicle owners who are unsure or who have already received a defect notice for a bullbar they believe should be exempt, should have their vehicle inspected at an RMS Authorised Vehicle Inspection Station.
