But it should also have proven to be a reminder that the issue of mental health does not discriminate.

Ideally a trained professional would be preferred but it doesn’t have to be.
There is some perception that the media, across all platforms, are only interested in reporting on celebrities suffering from mental illnesses.
Celebrities are in the forefront of everyone’s mind and it’s because of this we all feel a connection because we ‘know’ them due to the time spent on our screens.
That doesn’t make the thousands of other people worldwide any less of a ‘news’ story.
Mental illness is a serious issue and should be treated as such.
No-one should be too proud to pick up the phone and give a friend, a family member or anyone a call to have a chat and let them know they’re struggling.
It doesn’t take much out of your day to ask someone if they’re okay. It might prove to be the most important three words you’ve ever asked someone.
