Over 300 lively fans enjoyed watching Troy Kemp and Drew McAlister perform a number of songs during the night.
The Moree Champion caught up with Troy and Drew after their show and they both agreed they had a great performance.
“We both had a ball, as did the boys from the Viper Creek Band (the support act). There is something special about coming home and playing to a good, country crowd,” they said.
Usually, the two play around 15 songs but decided to throw in a few extra songs during the encore for their home crowd.
Troy and Drew said growing up in the country was one of the things that inspired great songs, with the latest single ‘Fight Me’ in particular.
“That natural country instinct to stick up for you mates is what the song is all about and for both of us music has always been a part of life,” they said.
“We both feel really lucky that we have something that we love like music and song writing, and found a way to make a living from it.
“It makes going to work everyday a pleasure. Even a bad day doing something you love is better than a good day doing something that you’re not interested in.”
Drew was born in Narrabri and raised in Moree, and Troy was born and raised in Kempsey.
“We hope everyone who came to the show is Moree and Gunnedah on the weekend had as good of a time as we did,” they said.
