After months of organising, treasurer Sam Green said it was a very successful event.
“Thank you to all the people who entered, all our sponsors and everyone involved in making it such a success. We probably raised over $5000 for prostate cancer and the flying doctor service but we still need to finalise those figures,” she said.
A total of 620 pigs were caught for the weekend totalling over 27,000kg with Chris North from Mungindi claiming the heaviest boar which weighed 103 kilograms.
Dave Jeffreys picked up the heaviest sow; David Spackman won the most pigs and most weight; Nathan Johnson won the smallest load while Nathan Johnson won an award for the longest distance travelled.
Ms Green said the whole weekend ran smoothly.
“We were quite impressed with all the hunters and we only received positive feedback from everyone including the police,” she said.
In the female categories, Ms Green won the most pigs and the most weight while Michelle Dykes won the heaviest boar and heaviest sow.
Anthony Walker won the prize for the boar with the longest tusks, Peter Green and Tim Francisco won the mystery weight while Billy Lambert won the oldest accredited hunter.
