I would like to extend an invitation to all shire councillors, members of parliament, business owners/managers, service clubs and the general public to join us at the Byamee Champion Sleep-out to experience for one night what it is like to be homeless.
On any given night in Australia over 105,000 people are considered homeless and they are just the ones we know of.
Byamee will have sleeping bags available to rent out for the night, or there is an option to bring your own.
There will also be a barbecue, kid’s activities such as face painting, cupcake decorating and a colouring-in corner.
We’ll also have some information about homelessness around Australia and Moree, the upcoming Hike For Homeless and an electronic display will be running.
This will present a good opportunity for people to step outside their ‘comfort zone’ and experience what life is like for those not as fortunate.
The sleep-out will be held at Byamee, 294 Warialda Street, starting at 6pm and continuing throughout the night.
Thank you for your support, and I hope to see you there.
