The store will provide low-cost, quality items and co-manager Stephen Lott said their main purpose would be to “serve the community”.
“We’ll provide a wide variety of items and we hope to look after those who find themselves in crisis situations and those with genuine needs,” he added.
Lifehouse Care is a branch of Lifehouse Church and the store offers everything from clothing and furniture to bric-a-brac and household items.
Mr Lott said they would welcome any donations from the community.
“We saw there was a need in the community and realised we live in a generous community and our store provides a point of reference.
“While we’re just opening up we can’t provide a pick-up service but if anyone has a four-tonne pantech truck which could help us we can get our pick-up service operating sooner rather than later.”
The store will operate from 9am until 4pm Monday to Friday and 9am until 12.30pm on Saturday.
“This is just the beginning; our ambition is to provide a full welfare service for the community in future. We want to help the community in any way we can.”
Mr Lott said they would gratefully receive donations to the store at 81 Heber Street – across the road from Cetnaj.
