The crash occured 10km from Moree on the Gwydir Highway.
A 39-year-old male driver has been taken to Moree hospital this morning after a collision with a tree.
Emergency services were called to the single vehicle crash on the Gwydir Highway at about 6.30am this morning, Friday, August 10.
A single driver in a sedan had collided with a tree about 10km east of Moree.
The male driver was trapped in the car.
He remained trapped for a short time before being released by rescue personnel.
He was taken to Moree Hospital by ambulance. Paramedics believed he had numerous fractures to his face and limbs.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Police are continuing their investigation.
