THE candidates running for election on Moree Plains Shire Council were announced yesterday.
Thirteen people have chosen to run this year for the nine spots on council.
Last year at the election a referendum was held on whether the Moree public wanted to reduce the number of councillors to nine. The overwhelming majority of the public voted to reduce the council.
This year’s candidates are; Sue Price, Theo Tzannes, Claudia Gall, Brendan Munn, John Tramby, Michele Maurer-King, James Von Drehnen, Robert Dunn, Katrina Humphries, Mick Cikota, Richard Clowes, Carl McGrady and Rodney Brazel.
The election will be held on Saturday, September 8 from 8am to 6pm.
