Moree businesses’ night of nights is fast approaching, and the Moree and District Chamber of Commerce and Industry is encouraging locals to nominate their favourite businesses.
The Moree and District Business Awards will be hosted at the end of the month and Chamber president, Debbie Williams, said the awards were an opportunity for residents to show their appreciation for a particular shop, service, or employee.
The coveted Business of the Year and Employee of the Year awards are decided by the public.
“Businesses that provide good customer service all the time are those that are deserving of the award,” Mrs Williams said.
“For the Employee of the Year it is those who look after the customers and put them first.”
The public can nominate businesses and employees by posting the nomination form from the Moree Champion, emailing secretary@moreechamber.com.au or by posting on or messaging the Moree and District Chamber of Commerce and Industry Facebook site.
There are 12 other categories of awards, the winners of which will be decided by the Chamber.
The awards will be presented on August 31, 6pm at the Moree and District Services Club.
The night is always a highlight for the business community, with this year looking to be no exception.
Local motivational speaker Sam Bailey will speak at the presentation night.
Sam became a quadriplegic after a car accident when he was 19-years-old, but went on to achieve his life dream of being a farmer and pilot. He and his wife Jenny now own a farm at Croppa Creek.
Mrs Williams said the business community was looking forward to a great night.
“It is nice to celebrate with your employees and enjoy the night,” she said.
