Barwon police have advised that the Gwydir Highway east of Moree is open - however drivers should take extra care, they said.
About 30 centimetres of water still is running water across the road .
The police have suggested if motorists are in doubt to take alternate routes.
"Please obey all road signs and take note of depth markers before entering crossings," a police spokesman said.
