The race program features the 1400m Mungindi Cup as the main race, supported by the 1000m Benchmark 45 Handicap, the 1200m Benchmark 45 Handicap, the 1400m Class One Handicap, the 1000m Maiden Plate and the 1400m Maiden Plate.
The race day looks set to feature plenty of local horses, with Peter and Nathan Sinclair and Martin Fernando all nominating horses in multiple races.
The Mungindi Cup will feature some fierce competition for the huge $9700 prize money.
Peter Sinclair will be looking for a win with General Relativity after the gelding’s success in the last leg of the Golden Triangle series at Talmoi.
Wayne Baker-trained Annette’s Pumpkin will also be one to watch in the Cup after a win at Mallawa a month ago.
Fernando’s Mountain Brew and Sinclair’s Ree ‘N’ Trav and Lady Cinnamon will contest the 100m Benchmark 45 Handicap.
The new undercover area for the luncheon will allow spectators a great view of the horses racing down the straight.
Fashions on the Field will be on again with judges looking for the best-dressed male, lady, girl, boy and the millinery award. There will also be a special ‘E’ award for fashion donated by Ellie Harrison of the Forget Me Not Fund.
Local band Little Poppy will entertain the crowds after the final race and there will be a jumping castle for the children.
