Stuart and Lachlan King, Tyler Hofmann and John Fing from Moree band Out of Phase have proved they know how to sing, and the phones have started to ring - that is for their new rock single ‘Crutch’.
“It’s an awesome feeling to finally have our own single released,” lead singer and guitarist Stuart King said.
“We have heard heaps of positive feedback and to make it into the top 100 on Triple J’s Unearthed is more than we could have hoped for.”
With more than 36,000 songs on Triple J’s Unearthed, the Moree music buffs are rocking it with the best of Australia’s up and coming musical talent.
The boys’ Facebook site has had 191 likes since it was established a month ago.
An official release of ‘Crutch’ at a party held recently had everyone rocking according to drummer Tyler Hofmann.
“We have 120 signed limited edition singles of ‘Crutch’ left and they are going fast,” he said.
Steve Newton of Erec Studios in Tamworth helped produce the album.
Mr Newton is best known for producing classic records with one of Australia’s best known country music singers John Williamson.
Out of Phase have nine original songs and six or seven more in the works.
“We get together to practise about three or four times a week,” bass guitarist Lachlan King said.
The band is aiming to have their own independently made filmclip and a three hour set that will include covers.
They have spent time at a recording studio in Leycester, a tiny village located 20 minutes from Lismore, and have also taken out the Summer Suns Battle of the Bands competition.
And they have only been united for a year.
In the coming months you can expect to see Out of Phase out and about playing live gigs and promoting their new sound.
