Moree bowling alley proposal has become...Talk of the town

This has been the talk of the town for two days and a friendly ‘war’ has started between Moree and Inverell, which has also been identified as a possible building site.

Community feedback will be the determining factor for the investors to decide which town gets the new facility.

The location earmarked for the facility is the old Cascades theatre.

And it won’t just be a bowling alley that we get - it will be a cafe too and also includes laser tag, pool tables, a children’s play area with slides, mazes and ball pits. It will be a perfect party, social and sporting venue!

People can show their support for the project by visiting ‘We want a bowling alley in Moree’ on Facebook,Click WeWantABowlingAlleyInMoree

the Shake, Rattle n Bowl Facebook site or emailing sales3.moree@ruralpress.com

Moree’s site has 551 likes so far while Inverell has 699.

Petitions have also been started and placed at local businesses including the Champion.

A venue like this is just what Moree needs with our pool upgrades and tourism, and is perfect timing considering the unfortunate loss of Big W.

It would also provide further employment opportunities for locals.

Moree resident Rusty Bell, who was a regular bowler while living in Sydney, says you can play rain hail or shine.

“It’s a cost effective sport,” he said.

“A league can be aimed at school sports, social and community groups, mummy leagues and trade leagues (plumbers vs sparky's). It’s great all-round.”
