Last year Kenway and Clark were generous enough to lend the Gwydir Industries team a flat top truck to pick up the bale wraps which get recycled and delivered to Melbourne but this season the organisation is trying to raise enough money to buy their own truck.
According to Gwydir Industries manager, Karyn Shearer, having their own truck would bring many opportunities.
“This truck will bring in more money and it will be so useful in more ways than one,” she said.
The fundraising committee for Gwydir Industries are hosting a ‘Dancing with The Stars’ night on Friday, March 16 where all money raised will go to purchasing the new truck.
The night will be fun-filled with plenty of entertainment.
Twelve 12 locals will be showing off their dancing talents and competing to be the ultimate dancers.
Choreographer Adam Williams, who worked with the top 20 on TV’s So You Think You Can Dance, will be the host on the night.
Blonde Chocolate, a four-piece band from Brisbane, will also be performing on the night.
Treasurer, Eric Carrigan believes this bi-annual event is something you don’t want to miss.
“After the floods most people are looking for a good night out,” Mr Carrigan said.
“The committee have made sure that the night will be interesting and enjoyable,” he said.
Not only is there live entertainment and some fierce local competition but there will also be a three course meal, complimentary drinks and even an auction with items including a flight for two to Sydney staying at the Shereton.
Doors open at 6.30pm and tickets are available from Sylvia’s Fabrics, My Store and Gwydir Industries for $80.
