Jamie, 35, and his son Harry, six, had to settle for some free gear after finishing second.
They bagged 14 fish measuring 6.541m. The winners, Team All the Gear, No Idea - from Orange - totalled 7.055m with their 14 fish. Inverell Fishing and Hunting came third after catching 13 fish measuring 6.221m.
The grand final was held at Windamere Dam (near Mudgee) on November 26-27 and featured 39 teams of two. The Hardmans competed under the name JMH Spinnerbaits.
Teams qualified for the grand final based on their results at four rounds held throughout the year.
Competition took place over three sessions: Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Teams measured their five longest fish from each session.
The aim was to target the areas you thought would produce the best returns. Anglers weren’t allowed to use bait - only lures.
No teams caught 15 fish. JMH Spinnerbaits and Team All the Gear No Idea were the only ones to bag 14. Five other teams finished in double figures. Twenty of the teams caught six or fewer fish.
JMH Spinnerbaits offered thanks to Hardman Outdoors for their support.
