The Moree Motorcycle Club is celebrating a range of positive results from the third and final round of the NSW Motocross Championships.
Nine club members travelled to the third and final round of the championships at Bathurst and all achieved positive results.
Bourke’s Tye Simmonds is a Moree Motorcycle Club member and dominated the final round, winning all his races and securing the championship for the Pro Lite and Pro Open classes.
Simmonds has competed in three out of four events in Moree in 2009 and most of Moree’s junior riders look up to him.
Moree Motorcycle Club president John Armstrong said the club was always proud to have Simmonds representing.
“Tye spends a lot of time here; the juniors do look up to him because he is such a talent and is very approachable,” he said.
Moree’s Trent Loder finished ninth in Bathurst and secured sixth place in the overall standings for the under 19s class.
Armstrong said sixth overall was a good result.
“We are talking about a state title so it’s a big thing,” he said.
Moree riders Jackson and Tyler Johnson both competed in Bathurst and their results gave them top 20 finishes in their respective junior classes.
Inverell’s Tyler Bullen is a Moree Motorcycle Club member and won the 11 to under 13-years 65cc championship after winning the round in Bathurst.
Warialda’s Jesse Moore also achieved a positive result, finishing ninth overall in the 12 to under 14 years 150cc class and 15th overall in the 13 to under15 years 250cc class.
Armstrong was celebrating the results of club members.
“For the representatives that did the titles, they’re very positive results.”
He pointed out that a club meeting in Moree may attract 150 members, in Bathurst or Sydney up to 1000 members could participate.
