Moree’s new and first ever trampolining club will begin training tomorrow.
Training will be held at the Moree Secondary College, Carol Ave campus hall at 3.30pm. The name of the club is to be decided by competition open to the residents of Moree.
State Member for Barwon Kevin Humphries and the shadow minister for sport and recreation approached Tracie Lane to start the club after he saw her son Kaidyn Lane performing trampolining at the Moree Jellicoe Park Markets, three months ago.
Kaidyn is the new state champion. The 11-year-old recently won the NSW Country Championships gold medal in Men’s Trampoline for his age group.
The aim of the club is to provide training for the children of Moree and the surrounding areas, for fun and fitness or competition.
Tracie Lane will be the coach, she has competed and taught gymnastics for the past 20 years and was inspired by her son’s talents to become an accredited trampolining instructor.
The New England credit union donated funds to buy second hand equipment for the club, including a giant trampoline and some mini trampolines.
The club will provide clinics in the school holidays by Scott Finlayson who is an ex-competitor at national level and the coach for the NSW team.
Julie Bartlett a coach and judge at national and international levels and Brett Austine a world champion and the coach of the Australian team have offered their services for free to promote the sport in the North West.
Come along to Friday’s training at 3.30pm, bring along some ideas for fun names for the new club.
