Moree residents compete in the Australian Dart Championships

19 Jan, 2012 11:03 AM
Kayne Munro, Fayth Munro and Madi Bye made the trip south to compete in the week-long event.

Bye received the Australian Encouragement Award for the girls section.

This award is given to a player that has tried hard in all areas of the game including playing, scoring and sportsmanship.

It is hoped this award will encourage young players to stay in the game.

The NSW team, of which the three Moree players were part of, also received the boys encouragement award.

NSW manager, Jenny Munro said the team performed well but were a little unlucky.

“Every player will have learnt something from this,” she said.

“Congratulations to Madi on her award and well done to Fayth and Kayne on making the state team for the second time in a row.

“Well done to all three players of the Moree junior darts.

“You have done us proud.”
