Lane down after tough international initiation

14 Dec, 2011 11:29 AM
KAIDYN Lane has finished sixth in his first international event.

The Texas-based athlete represented America in competition with Denmark and Canada.

The event was held in Houston on December 4. He was up against 25 others in the trampoline.

Lane, 14, was coming

second after his first routine. However, he did poorly in his final routine after nerves got the better of him, according to his mother, Tracie Lane.

While Lane was disappointed with his performance, his coaches thought it may have been a blessing in disguise, as it sent the

message he wouldn’t be able to succeed in top-level competition without being fully focused.

Sixth was the worst his mother could recall him finishing in an event.

The event was preceded by three days of hard

training, which Lane said had left him sore and tired.
