Sarah Parkes is riding high.
She was selected to represent the sport of polocrosse in NSW at the upcoming Sydney Royal Easter Show.
Sarah was selected along with 12 under 13s players from all over NSW.
They will be playing exhibition games from April 11 to 14 at Homebush showground, Sydney.
Sarah was chosen to represent the sport as the selection panel were impressed with her skill level, ability and personality.
Sarah has been playing polocrosse for the Pallamallawa club for five years.
A selector saw her win the A grade junior girl championship at Galloping Fully Carnival, near Narrabri, last year.
Her team won the Warwick carnival on August 22 and 23 against Lockyer Valley Juniors.
They won by one point, at seven to six.
Sarah has also been selected to play in the Australian Championships sub-junior NSW team in Albury on April 24 to 26.
Sarah is busy training on Toohey, her 22-year-old pony, most days to prepare for the Australian Championships and the Sydney Show.
She is looking forward to the next polocrosse practice day, on February 20, at the Pallamallawa recreation grounds.
“I love polocrosse because it’s fast, lots of fun and you get to meet lots of people,” she said.
Her mother Vanessa is proud of Sarah’s riding ability.
“She loves all things horsey, but the tougher and faster the better,” she said.
