State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers from across the North West attended a Road Crash Rescue Workshop in Moree at the weekend.
NSW State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers from Tenterfield, Deepwater, Bingara, Warialda and Moree attended the two-day workshop.
At the workshop, the volunteers received specialist training in vehicle rescue and activities, including stabilising vehicles and extricating casualties from different simulated road crash situations.
“Dealing with motor vehicle accidents requires SES volunteers to respond quickly and be prepared to work on all types of vehicles, so these types of workshops are an integral part of our road crash rescue training,” North West SES Region learning and development officer Jean-Mary Botfield said.
“Volunteers also received instruction in multiple hazards that they may encounter at motor vehicle accidents.”
The workshop was deemed successful and provided a valuable learning environment for all volunteers to share experiences and practice rescue techniques.
