State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers from across the Moree Plains Shire area were in Mungindi recently, participating in two days of training.
SES local controller Tony Clark coordinated the training and North West Region learning and development officer Jean-Mary Botfield also attended.
Over the two days volunteers completed induction training along with storm damage training and skills and knowledge training to maintain team safety though tactical risk management.
“Volunteers are trained to a high standard and gain nationally recognised qualifications,” Mrs Botfield said.
Those who participated in the training at Mungindi will be valuable members of the State Emergency Service.
The volunteers use their skills in emergencies, in the community and take them into their workplace so everyone benefits,” Mrs Botfield added.
The SES is the most versatile and widely used rescue and public safety organisation in New South Wales with 9000 volunteers spread all around the state.
