SASCHA Estens has had the chance to make part two of her flood video.
Her video of November 2011’s flood video received more than 5500 hits on YouTube.
Her new video, uploaded on Tuesday, already has more than 3000 views.
Sascha started filming on Thursday and finished Monday afternoon, with the only thing left to do was edit her video.
“I started editing on Sunday and finished at 2am Monday morning,” she said.
Her roll over the last week was to shoot the footage, download the tape, lift furniture, edit and then go out and shoot more footage, download tape again, edit, shoot and repeat the same routine.
There were no major setbacks whilst recording these floods except that it was a struggle with all the rain.
“Trying to film, hold an umbrella over my video camera, whilst trying to not drop my camera in the water all at the same time was tough,” Sascha said.
The video according to Sascha, doesn’t differ much from November’s.
“It’s obviously pretty similar in style as the first one but I guess a little more devastating as was the flood this time around,” she said.
Making the video brought a range of emotions for Sascha but overall she enjoyed the experience second time around.
“I think what the video really shows is how fantastic our town is and it makes me proud to be able to say that I am from Moree.
“Despite how devastating the flood was, it’s something people don’t see every day around here and I guess with that comes a lot of excitement and well, I guess it’s better than a drought,” Sascha said.
She had no plans on how the video was to turn out, therefore there were a mixture of high and low spirits in the video.
“The footage is just what I saw as I wandered through the floodwater.
“I had no idea what the video would end up looking like,” she said.
Some of the footage that Sascha shot from a helicopter was used on the six o’ clock news in Sydney.
