Register now for a skip bin

06 Feb, 2012 09:36 AM
With the clean-up in full force, Moree Shire Council has announced skip bins will be made available to flood-affected residents.

Skip bins will be distributed to flood-affected residents from today.

If you need a skip bin, please register by contacting the council on 67573 222.

Meanwhile the council also has put a call out to people in need of paid accommodation due to the flood.

Those people - and those in paid accommodation who need to extend - need to go to the PCYC to register.

From Tuesday, this service will be moved to the Banquet Hall in Balo Street.

At this stage the federal government has not announced a flood payment.

Further updates on this will be provided as it comes to hand, the council spokesman said.

Assistance with essential household items lost due to the floods, for those who don't have insurance, will be made available in due course.

Within the next 10 days, where possible, a doorknock about this will be made in flood-affected areas where people will receive an information sheet and forms to claim for lost essential items.
