While Moree has Centrelink-based job agencies and the always-effective classifieds as means of hunting or advertising jobs, there is now another method.
Moreeplainsjobs.com is an initiative of Leonard Holt Rob (LHR) and a program piloted by Moree Plains Shire Council.
It is aimed at bringing more students to the area after they have finished their degrees in the cities.
The site allows employers to advertise vacant positions and jobseekers to upload full profiles.
The site hit the web on May 27, but was officially launched at a breakfast at the Artesian Spa Motor Inn on Wednesday.
The breakfast meeting was attended by employers and students who are either looking for work or will be soon - upon completion of their degree - and representatives from Moree Plains Shire Council and LHR.
About 25 attended the information session.
Also in attendance were representatives from “The Brolga Project” a project providing university students with work experience opportunities in rural and regional Australia.
Both moreeplainsjobs.com and The Brolga project will liaise with each other in the future where their goals align.
