Moree's Leroy Brown, Rowena Chapman and Cameron Hammond are hopefuls to represent Australia.
The Moree Boxing Academy was contacted by the Australian Institute of Sport inviting the three boxers to enter the state trials to qualify to represent Australia.
Mr Hammond is invited to trial for the Commonwealth Games, Mr Brown for the World Youth Championships and Ms Chapman for the Women’s World Championships.
Mr Hammond and Mr Brown were asked to enter camps at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra for two weeks in preparation for the trials.
Mr Brown and Ms Chapman will be prepared here in Moree by former Australian boxing champion Danny Cheetham for the world youth championships in Baku in Azerbaijan, Africa later this year and the Women’s World Championships in Bridgetown, Barbados.
Mr Hammond will participate in the AIS training camp for national selection to the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in October.
The three boxers will compete in the NSW trials fights on February 6-7 against the best fighters in the state in Blacktown, Sydney.
The round robin knockout competition winner of that NSW trial will represent their state at the national selection. Only one boxer from state will become part of the Australian team.
If the boxers win the NSW trial to gain selection for the Australian teams, they will compete in Melbourne for National trials in April for the International Commonwealth Games and World Championships.
The trials will consist of three, three-minute rounds and three, two-minute rounds for Ms Chapman.
“Both the Moree guys are very talented athletes they are right in contention, the fact that AIS offered to help them prepare is testament to the fact that they think they are a big chance of winning selection trials, they’ll be fighting some of the best boxers in the country over the next couple of months, they’ll have to come up with their best performance on the night.
“Everyone wants to represent their country and the ones that want it the most will get there.
“I think that Rowena has a good chance to win her first fight. I am excited for a female boxer from Moree to trial for the Women’s world championships for the first time.” Mr Cheetham said.
