29 Oct, 2009 12:37 PM
Barwon LAC Police arrested a 14-year-old Moree boy at 10.45am yesterday after a stabbing at a residence in Queen St earlier that morning.

Duty Sergeant, Inspector Greg Lamey, said police were called to the scene just after midnight where they found a 28-year-old male bleeding profusely from a stab wound to the leg.

The victim was then taken to Moree Hospital but later transferred to the Tamworth Hospital to undergo surgery. He was in a stable condition at time of print.

The 14-year-old was taken into custody to the Moree Police Station where he was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was granted bail under strict conditions and will appear in the Moree Children’s Court on December 7.

Inspector Lamey said the circumstances surrounding the incident were unknown at this stage.
