Moree business helps Hazim to become an Australian citizen

11 Mar, 2010 01:14 PM
A Moree resident and his family have achieved permanent residency in Australia thanks to the sponsorship of a local business.

Hazim Buksh, born in Fiji, moved with his wife and two children to Moree four years ago.

The four made the move directly from Fiji to Moree, where Mr Buksh and his family began work in a number of different fields.

He has been working for Pretect Auto Electrics as a field service technician for the past two years.

Pretect owner manager Troy Cussen said he had sponsored Mr Buksh and his family under the 457 working visa program.

“It’s a big responsibility but it’s been rewarding,” Mr Cussen said.

Mr Buksh said he and his family – wife, Naz, and adult children Sharon and Alf – were next aiming for full Australian citizenship.

Mr Buksh, always with a ready smile, said his job was rewarding. Sponsoring people on visas worked, Mr Cussen said recently, as long as both business owners and employees were committed.
