Boomi author Nicole Alexander has signed an international publishing deal.
The fourth generation grazier from “Murki” has been writing for about 18 years but this is her first “serious” book contract.
Ms Alexander has signed a two-book deal with the first to be released in April or May next year and the sequel to be published at a similar time the following year.
“This is the first time I will produce a major piece in such a tight time frame but it is very rewarding,” Ms Alexander said.
She said she felt very fortunate to be able to secure such a deal during these times and in such a tough industry.
“You never know where the end of the journey will be,” she said.
Ms Alexander usually writes short stories and poetry but has been working on her novel on and off for about six years.
“It’s been a long time deciding to embark,” she said.
There is talk of a national publicity tour and Ms Alexander says there could be the opportunity to do so locally.
“If the interest is there that would be great,” she said.
