Mr and Mrs Gillan were at the Gold Coast when they heard Moree was going to be inundated with water.
Mr Gillan organised for the couple to be picked up from Goondiwindi and be flown back into Moree.
“I gave Dave Warburton from Air Cair a call and he was more than happy to help,” Mr Gillan said.
After a short flight, Mr and Mrs Gillan were picked up from the airport and airlifting back to Hassle Street via helicopter.
“It was all pretty easy. We were in Gundy by 10 and home by 1,” Mr Gillan said.
“A big thank you to Dave and all his team.”
Mr Gillan said he would also like to thank his neighbour Ralph Bulmer for keeping him updated on the flood situation and clearing out his back shed before the flood water arrived.
