$12,000 donation

02 Sep, 2010 05:41 PM
The United Hospital Auxiliary (UHA) Moree branch has donated almost $12,000 to the Moree District Health Service.

Mehi cluster general manager David Quirk accepted the cheque on behalf of the Moree District Health Service from UHA Moree branch president Sheena Smith.

UHA Moree branch treasurer Joan Brooks said the women had spent “a little over 12 months” raising the majority of the money, about $11,700, through the kiosk attached to the Moree hospital.

Moree Lions Club had contributed $1000 to the amount, Mrs Brooks said.

Moree District Health Service clinical nurse manager Bronwyn Cosh thanked the ladies for their hard work and generosity.

The money went towards a bariatric bed and two new blood pressure monitors.

The UHA Moree branch currently has 32 active members, but is on the lookout for more.

Anyone interested in volunteering a small amount of their time can contact Sheena Smith on 6752 2408.
